Spriggan Description
Spriggan are tall, wiry humanoids with bark-like skin that varies in texture, color, and density depending on their age and heritage. Their bodies have a distinct wooden, plant-like quality, often featuring knotted wood, moss, or small flowering growths along their limbs.
Their eyes glow faintly with bioluminescent hues, shifting between soft greens, deep ambers, or pale blues, depending on their mood or environment. Some Spriggan develop branch-like horns or antlers, while others have vines, fungal patterns, or bark ridges growing along their arms and shoulders.
Unlike rigid trees, their bodies have a flexible, sinewy structure, allowing them to subtly shift their size and density—a remnant of their pre-war nature. In moments of stress or combat, their size may shift and elongate their limbs slightly for reach and mobility.
Though they have humanoid features, their facial structure is often angular, with sharp cheekbones, deep-set eyes, and ridges of wood-like cartilage forming along their brows and jawlines. Their voices carry a soft, resonant quality like wind passing through hollow branches.
