Ancestries

The nine ancestries in Sentius: Last Enclave are a mix of Light Fae, Dark Fae, Neutral Fae, and Humans.

  • 🌿 The Light Fae – Spriggan, Briarfolk, and Hollowknot
  • πŸŒ‘ The Dark Fae – Redcaps, Nightborn, and Ashwraith
  • ✨ Neutral Fae - Hollowborn and Shardling
  • πŸ› οΈ Humans remain neutral but have adapted to survive among the Fae.

Each ancestry has unique strengths, weaknesses, and cultural traits, shaping how they interact with the world socially and mechanically.

Differences Between Ancestries

Each ancestry provides a boost and a reduction to Primary Abilities, reflecting both biological and cultural influences.

How Ancestry Affects Abilities

βœ” All Primary Abilities start at (d10+2).
βœ” The Strength Ability increases to (d8+4).
βœ” The Weakness Ability decreases to (d12+0).

This ensures that ancestry offers distinct advantages without restricting player choiceβ€”allowing for unique builds like a Redcap scholar or a Hollowborn warrior.

Languages

Each ancestry preserves its heritage through a unique language. These are more than just communication toolsβ€”they hold secrets, traditions, and ancient knowledge.

LanguageMeaning
AethericThe Old Fae Tongue
EnglishDefault language of the Enclave
SylvanicOld Seelie Court dialect
Twilight SpeechThe new common tongue of the Fae
UmbricOld Unseelie Court dialect

Example Use Cases

βœ” Hollowborn magical texts may require Aetheric fluency to unlock their full potential.
βœ” Nightborn espionage notes might need Umbric fluency to decipher covert messages.
βœ” Twilight Speech serves as a universal language among the Fae.

While most residents of Enclave Sentius speak multiple languages, ancestral knowledge is often guarded in its native tongue.
